American Walnut Fitted Bedroom Furniture with
painted window seat
"Armed with ideas we'd visited a few local companies before
discovering Matthew James Furniture in Saddleworth and decided to travel from
our home in Glossop, Derbyshire to pay them a
visit."
Working closely with the clients, we listened to their ideas
and requirements for their guest bedroom, then set about creating a style that
would be individual, while accentuating the character of their home and
fulfilling their storage needs.
We spent many hours together at our
showroom tweeking the design and discussing the materials, finishes and handles
together with their ideas for the upholstery. The toughest decision was whether
or not to have the window seat in a contrasting painted finish or keep it in
the same American Walnut as the rest of the bedroom furniture. Once that
decision was made, the next difficult decision was which
handle!
Satin chrome keys with escutcheons were chosen for the fitted
wardrobes with satin chrome knobs for the dressing table, whilst long timber
pull handles were selected for the drawers that created the window seat and
finished with a walnut stain.
The client sourced her own fabrics then passed them onto us
to have the cusions made by a local upholsterer for the window seat and stool.
We were
also asked to make the base for the bed so that all the materials used in the
room blended together.
The end result was exactly what the client had evisaged - a
welcoming guest bedroom, that was both warm and elegant. |
