About Matthew James
Furniture
Created from a desire to provide high quality furniture,
Matthew James was established in 1994 by myself, Michael Chadwick and was named
after my son.
Assisted by my partner
Anna, we are a highly regarded family business with our workshop based in the
heart of Oldham and our showroom in the small village of Grotton, Saddleworth.
We are a company that retains it's traditional values of meeting individual
customer requirements at its heart.
My
background has always been in cabinetry. After leaving school at 15, I began an
apprenticeship, where I was taught the traditional skills of joinery and
cabinet making, of which I continue to use to this day. Even after four decades
in the industry, I'm still as passionate and enthusiastic about my work today,
as I was on the first day I started.
I am justifiably
proud of the standard, quality and above all the customer satisfaction received
over the years. I am also proud to say that many of our customers have returned
year after year with new projects, as well as recommending us to family,
friends and neighbours, which I feel is testimony to the high standards of our
craftsmanship and service.
