Traditional Painted bedroom furniture

'We wanted bedroom furniture that looked original to the house'

The design for this room began with the original panelling inside the windows. The clients specified that they wanted the fitted bedroom furniture to look like it was original to the house.

We therefore made a note of the panelling detail and used this design to create the panels on the doors.

The wardrobes were built in from floor to ceiling, in order to utilise the whole space. We used ceiling coving to finish the top of the wardrobes and to match the rest of the room.

There was an existing radiator positioned beneath the window, which the clients wanted to retain, but they didn't want to see it. So we incorporated a window seat into the design with a fleur De L'ise centre panel that not only concealed the radiator, but provided a comfortable place to sit. The front panel of the radiator cover was removable so that the radiator could be serviced when necessary.

With the blue cushions and matching blind they framed the window beautifully, which provided stunning views of the Saddleworth hills.
